My name is Sixing (Jonathan) Tao, a junior studying Computer Science and Sociology at the University of Washington, with a focus on human-centered AI. I am currently working with Prof. Jacob Wobbrock and Prof. Audrey Dorélien at UW, as well as collaborating with Prof. Jane E at NUS. Previously, I conducted research with Prof. Xin Yi at Tsinghua.

My research builds and evaluates Human-AI collaborative systems that formalize the tacit expertise current AI overlooks to augment human expression, rather than automate it. I draw on HCI and AI methods, from system development and preference learning to empirical studies and benchmarking.
